Maureen Burns, CPA graduated at the top of her class with “Highest Honors” from Babson College in 1990 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She quickly passed the Certified Public Accounting licensing exam and went to work for Arthur Andersen, one of the most sought-after accounting firms in the world. After the birth of her first child in 1991, Maureen began evening classes for her Masters Degree in Taxation at Bentley College, graduating summa cum laude after the birth of her second child. In 1996, Maureen went to work for PriceWaterhouse Coopers, another one of the world’s most sought after public accounting firms. Here she specialized in tax services for high net worth individuals. After several years, with a growing interest in and admiration for the small business owner, Maureen switched to a more local public accounting firm. This allowed her to spend more time with her two children while focusing her public accounting career on a variety of smaller businesses and their owners coast to coast.
